Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
