The British government is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the America.

British restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russian resources since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, resources provided to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward using the full value of the seized Russia's state holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional measures soon would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration follows EU representatives met in Copenhagen last week to debate employing frozen Russian assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on international partners to take or employ seized Russian funds, based on media sources.

The value of immobilized Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow executed large-scale bombardments throughout Ukraine on recently, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the assault, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a message on social media following the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering defense mechanisms and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed the press he would urge Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement scheme, under which alliance members buy weapons from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the Britain's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the program, as well as apply further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
